A POT OF GOLD FOR ROHRERS AT THE END OF THE RAINBOW

THE ROHRERS BEATS MILLERS
11-2
GLORY ENOUGH FOR ONE DAY

Rohrers Vs. Millers

Orwigsburg Memorial Park

The Rohrers won a game of baseball on Friday of which they should be proud. They beat the red shirted Millers 11-2 to end the game with the mercy rule for the second time this year.
M.J. Oswald was the winning pitcher and pitched the entire game. He pitched a great game with enough strike outs  to keep Millers to a low score. Watching  M.J. pitch was like watching a seasoned pitcher in the final innings of a championship game.
Our fielding was excellent. Jake Biever on first played a fantastic game. Nate Dixon on third was instrumental in getting the runner out at first. Drew Grace, always plays consistently at short and Dylan Biever covers second like a blanket snagging a pop up his way. Our boys in the out field  who included Seth Grube, Chase Weiser and Blake Lipko played  excellent ball today. And starting at catcher today was rookie T.J. Schappell who kept the plate safe from runners.
The game started off with M.J. firing from the mound. With four batters either popping out or grounding out to the infield. As reported earlier, our fielding was possibly one of the best fielding games to be played so far.
Our batting was superb throughout the game. Jake Biever was on key for that feel of a home run which came in the 3rd inning. That ball went flying high and fast over the fence. Drew Grace, the slugger, had his normal number of hits and then he banged one again for an inside the park home run. This kid runs like a gazelle around the bases. While under the careful and critical eye of manager Grace,  if there are any slips past the third base that manager Grace feels are weak, a quick reprimand will fly. But today, the speed out did the ball. And I think I saw the crease of a smile on manager Grace`s face as Drew went around the corner. Heavy hitter Nate Dixon was right on key with a couple of singles and double and a steal to second during  which he hurt his foot on the bag. Chase Weiser was on at the bat with a single. Seth Grube swung the bat well. Dylan Biever and Blake Lipko both hit high ones out in the outfield. Brent Kaunas came into the game after being away and banged one to the outfield for a double. He then stole home for a run. All the boys played great and Easton Weiser, Dylan Grace and everybody contributed to this fine win.
All in all, the club played an excellent game of base ball.
As Manager Grace said at the end of the game, “You boys played really hard today. Good job!”
